With their latest release the crushingly heavy, yet technically sound Baptized In The Filth, death metaller’s Impending Doom have released what is to date their best album. The band got their big break in 2007 with Facedown Records. Later that same year the band released their debut album, Nailed. Dead. Risen. The album was an unrelenting onslaught of grindcore influenced deathcore. The album also featured vocalist Brook Reeves use of an inhaled style of vocal known as a “pig squeal”. After the release the band began to tour quite a bit, resulting in the band gaining many new fans. In 2009 the band released their second album on the record label, The Serpent Servant, which brought a more straight-forward style of deathcore to the table. The band released their third album for their longtime label in 2010. The album titled, There Will Be Violence, took a more metalcore influenced death metal approach, resulting in a more varied album than anything that the band had released at that point. The album also happened to be the band’s most technically proficient release. The following year, 2011, the band left Facedown Records, and signed with eOne Music. The band released their latest album, Baptized In Filth, on the label.
